Today is my red letter day
When after all is said and done
All my doubters are cast away
And attestation brought
Proof that, a poets love
Will never come to nought
That all my Jacaranda dreams
Warm and serene
Will live in another's heart
and that feelings hurt,
and lovers scorned
were worth the salt I got

Note: “red letter day” was a phrase used by one of Keats' friend to describe the day Keats' first poem was published, a day proof that his ambition wasn't foolish

I love this poem as much now as I did when first I read it. It feels so warm and triumphant, and I think of scattering pink petals.
